Coaching friend of mine at a prominent area HS told me he's got
Players looking to go to grandparents, uncles, older brothers homes in other states so they can play FB this fall.

If they do, has CHSAA considered this? What if they come back to play here again in the spring? Or can they come back for basketball season?
thoughts on that?

No doubt the Broncos haven't got much out of him for the big millions
He really needs to show up next season and be an asset. To this point, he's provided little value.

I don't think James will be the last Broncos player or NFL player to opt out unless the NFL helps guys feel safe for them and their families.

Maybe they are some players who support the “list of demands” ??? Would
it surprise you if a group of them got together and said this may be the only way we can “win” anything ? This new coach is a hard ass. Nothing would surprise me in this day and age.

Jeter says Marlins players got a little too comfortable with protocols.
Funny how you get ALL these mlb players complaining and blaming the
League about safety, protocols, etc. and they are all out clubbing on Soufh Beach ! Then Jeter comes out and says this.

Ok. Let’s have EVERYONE opt out. Doctors, nurses , everyday working
stiffs trying to make a buck. Let’s just shut the world down and give in.

I respect your post. Don’t get me wrong. Venting again. But this guy has had questions about him his whole career. Cashed in (like David Price and others ) then opts out. At least he didn’t bitch about anything. I liked his statement.

Interesting that he can still get the 10 million he’s owed next year.

I would probably do the same thing :-). But I wouldn’t feel good about it

There absolutely is a choice
Every state bordering Colorado is playing this fall. So are "hot spots" such as Florida, Texas and Arizona. . .

Per a 5A school's AD, CHSAA based a large part of its decision on a *model* that predicts a spike in cases this fall. They were so spooked by this that there will be a ban on any HS sports from Oct. 18, 2020 to Jan. 3, 2021.

Seasons are now compressed with inadequate practice time to prepare for competition and club sport seasons such as volleyball will now overlap with HS. So dumb on so many levels.

So, another significant decision based not on facts or actual data, but instead on fear from dire projections of a model.

This also ignores the rural areas of Colorado and the western slope where COVID is de minimis at this point. These decisions may do long lasting damage to CHSAA . . .

Just trying to be smart, manage risk.

I didn't like the signing, even at a position of need, or him being hurt last season but this...I can respect.

To threaten, allegedly, to kick kids off the team for wanting to affect change, whether we agree or disagree, seems un-American. Like you, I am not a big advocate of unions. I don't hate them but I think they come with problems.

There were a lot of happy people at Boston College when he was fired last year ... and not only happy, but willing to go public about it.

This is what happens when you let a thug like Urban Meyer choose your head football coach.

Season will be played after both early signing day and February NLI. Many other states, including Texas, Florida (gasp) and every state that borders Colorado are playing this fall.

hell with those damn players who make universities millions of dollars. Let's get the 85 players who really appreciate the University of Colorado the most. Black,Malone,Bednar,Fangio. If Black had
a pitching staff like the perennial contenders (Nationals, Dodgers, Astro’s, Red Sox, etc ) he would be just as successful. He has Coors field and a RAGTAG (at best ) pitching staff. IMO

Man, that's a great question
Fangio, the book is still out on, in my estimation. The Broncos went what, 7-9 last season? That's however with one receiver, garbage at QB most of the season and losing two or three really tight games. Denver could have easily gone 9-7 or 10-6 arguably. The talent deficiency was not his fault. If he had pulled off a winning record after the VJ, that would have been amazing.

Malone can frustrate Nuggets fans yet he's the best pro coach in Denver right now.

I like Bednar but the Avs are even more inconsistent, and more perplexingly so, than the Nuggets. I just don't get how they go in slumps or look so terrible then just look so awesome for a stretch. Injuries have played a role and I don't love the goaltending always but I give Malone the edge because even when Denver is losing to bad teams (which it does too often), the Nuggets are still more stable and less likely to extended slumps.

Black has to deal with Coors Field and Jeff Bridich. How he's not on medication, I don't know.

So I rank them 1) Malone 2) Bednar 3) Fangio (could go higher soon, hopefully) and 4) Black

JMO :)

Rank it!
How would you rank the 4 coaches of the major sports in Denver. I am very happy with Black, Bednar, and Malone. Fangio (almost wrote Fauci) is still an enigma.

I put the first 3 as extremely close, but would go Malone, Bednar and Black. I cannot give you justification as they are that close in my mind.

Michael Porter Jr. ......how about that?
Since the NBA restarted I've noticed not much defense is being played, or less than usual. So extreme team and individual outputs are going to be present and not really representative of reality but Michael Porter's 37 and 12, WOW. We all know his talent and skill is there. It's about consistency and showing up every night. Really encouraging to see.

Jokic was great too. Porter's game helped him.

Bol Bol was fun in the exhibition games yet it's clear that young buck needs a lot of work to be a force in regular season games. Optimistic but big patience is going to be required.
