Both Hoffman and Byyny did more to harm the program than the outside attacks because they actually assisted with the outside attacks from within. Both of them were spineless and ignorant. They were worse than DiStefano and DiStefano is bad, bad, bad.

Last season was as disappointing as Hawkins. I never thought I would watch a team sleep walk through an entire season to 5-7 after 10 wins the year before. The responsibility for that goes right to the head coach. The entire team except for Lindsay and a few others was flat. A head coach does not let that happen. I also always say the last 2 losses in 2016 led right into the 2017 season. Next season should be 8-4 at minimum. Anything 7-5 or less suggests to me the leadership is not there.

Even with the Fairbanks years and McCartney's first few years of struggle to bring the program back, the Buffs were top 20-25 after 100 years of college football up to 2006. The 2018 season will likely be telling. We will find out if the program is going in the right direction. I simply do not buy excuses any more. There is enough money and there has been enough time. [Of course, that's just my opinion. :-)]
