Opinions are like a-holes. Of course, I'm one of them. But I digress.
In my opinion, with respect to DL, I think they see a combination of DL fatigue by the 2nd half and weak ILB play. There are times when the DL is getting blown off the ball. There are also lots of times when the ILBs are taking themselves out of plays. The analyst on the Saturday broadcast pointed it out. In fact, he thought it was an ASU adjustment to have the RBs lag behind the OL to draw CU's ILBs away from the running lanes. On the one hand, the DL was getting stood up in the 2nd half, probably giving up 4-5 ypc even with better ILB play. On the other hand, the ILBs kept missing the running lanes, giving up even bigger gains. Those weaknesses feed off of each other. Washington figured that out early in the year. Great gameplan by ASU.
