Since most Asian kids here in California are smarter than the American kids, they already know English when entering school.

We have a family on our street that the folks are Chinese born and the kids were born here. They always spoke Chinese in the home, but when the oldest was 5 and played with my son, he spoke perfect English although the parent's English was not as good.

The 3 boys are now 2 doctors and some kind of scientist.
