Cutting the cord is definitely the way to go. I did it about a year ago. I get sling (orange & blue) for football and basketball season, then shut it down for the rest. (very easy to do, just log into account and turn off.)

Also have Amazon Prime and Netflixs. I will never get cable or a dish again.
