I never heard anyone say that he quote "pimped out his daughter." I never heard anyone accuse him of being a pimp. Please let go of this resentment. I heard some people saying that the players felt obligated to attend prayer meetings or join Promise Keepers, which did espouse right-wing political ideas.
I think that the controversy was more about trying to merge personal political or religious beliefs with a secular university and secular athletic program.
McCartney was a tremendously talented coach, and we were very fortunate to have him lead the program to great success. He set the stage for the coaches that followed. Let's try to remember all of his positive accomplishments and not dwell on resentments or anger. He is a great man who left when he wanted to, and that allowed him the time that he never had previously to spend with his wife and family. -- B4E
