Yes, the Confederate Tiger Zouave rifle unit. There were several units in both Union and Confederate armies that wore the French style Zouave uniform. I believe use of the uniform gradually declined as the war continued. (I've always had an interest in military history. Mostly Napoleonic wars, WWII and Civil War.)

I thought about the Tiger Zouaves the other day after I posted a reply about the nutjobs that go after almost any athletic mascot. I mentioned that they will find a way to attack Colorado's Buffalo next.
