Something to think about....
On NFL Draft Day, several of those Clemson players will be making more money at 21 years old (or younger) than Dabo Swinney does at 47. You see exploitation. I see opportunity that otherwise would not be available for the majority of these athletes. College sports are an avenue for countless athletes (of all races) to shake off the bonds of poverty and improve their lot in life forever.
Comparing college sports to slavery, as the article does, is the height of insanity...Free education worth a couple hundred thousand dollars, Worshiped like a God for 4 years if not a lifetime. Potential increase in lifetime income of millions of dollars even if they don't play pro sports. That's slavery?? Come on.
I agree with you on UNC, Penn State, and countless other similar situations. These major institutions get away with murder, while individual athletes can be penalized for ridiculously minor infractions.
