It's a great distraction for the other side. They'll spend their energy making excuses and rationalizing about how it's not really a rivalry, etc. They can have their rivalries with fledgling UCLA and Notre Dame. Meanwhile, we can put a bullseye on their arses, and hopefully it blows up the Pac-12 South like it blew up the Big8 when Mac1.0 started this tradition.

Truthfully, though, I have a heck of a lot higher opinion of USC than the previous one-sided rival. I don't think it will distract them, but we can give it a shot. My only concern is that it backfires and we end up with 20K USC fans in Boulder every time they visit, the SC band, and that freakin droning Tribute to Troy playing for 3 hrs.
