Ok State in the ole Big 8
Unfortunately I watched most of my games at Folsom in the early to mid 80's, saw some bad football. On the other hand I was there for the first "Rise", how sweet it was.
Oklahoma State had some great teams in those days. High powered Os. Unbelievable backs, Thurman Thomas followed by Barry Sanders. One of the first big Mega receivers I remember, something Dykes. I think they were the 3rd best team in the conference in those days as the fuskers and land thieves battled for the National Championship.
In the fog of my memory I remember beating the Cowboys in the last seconds at Folsom in what was one of the "dark" periods of this program....sometime in the early 80's. What I remember most was as the Buffs clinched it in the final minutes turning around and hugging another fan that I'd never met before. She was an older woman, and once we realized what we'd just done in the excitement of the moment we started laughing. I think of her on occasion, alone in Folsom rooting for a crappy team, her and I true Black n Gold fans sharing a moment. I hope she's still here to witness this rise.
College football is simply the best....GO BUFFS!!!!!
