Solid guy, did a great job this year, doesn't get enough credit in the shadow of Leavitt. This is one of the fun parts of college football, seeing a guy deservedly rise in his career. It's been a while since we had ACs rising through the ranks. Even with the success Barnett had, he wasn't churning out too many coaches that I remember. McCartney's staffs had great AC churn, though. Hopefully we're starting to see that now. It would be great if Tumpkin was the next Hankwitz. Then we'll have to figure out how to keep Clarke around.
Hey, I wonder if Cabral would like to finish his career with one more stint in Boulder. He was a heck of a LB coach. Solid recruiter in the past, especially with the Samoan kids. We're going to need an LB coach. Has a few years of DC experience now. CU isn't rolling in $$$, so they might be able to give raises to current guys on the staff with the money JL's spot leaves on the table, then get an experienced LB coach. Keeping the remaining staff together and happy should be the priority now, IMO.
