The more things change, the more they stay the same. All of BCS machinations with stats and computers were to minimize the human element. Folks didn't like many of the outcomes and the formula was tinkered with so it finally ended up as a beauty pageant again.

No simple answer other than to win all of your games. Opps, even that didn't work for Western Michigan.

Even though a legit case for USC, CU did get penalized for paying a CCG and getting blown out.
