If you read the NOA, there isn't one mention of play for pay. It seems to be the popular belief from the national media that the 2013 class was bought and paid for. The NCAA has been in Oxford for 3 1/2 years investigating the football program and it just isn't there.

The ACT stuff was bad but happened under Houston Nutt's staff. It's funny that he had the nerve to come out and say he felt vindicated from this.There is a reason he isn't coaching and probably never will again.

An example of what the NCAA came up with:
Laquon Treadwell had a girlfriend living off campus who he stayed with on occasion. The NCAA tried to say that was an improper benefit.

As far as scholly reduction, Ole Miss has already started self imposing restrictions a couple of years ago in case this happened.

I do fault the staff for the Tunsil situation with the loaner car. That is something they should have been on top of.
The majority of the Level 1 violations had to do with Tunsil or more importantly, his family. They were given free lodging from an Oxford hotel owner while attending games, etc.

Overall, I think one of the best "violations" was a kid's FCA mentor who he had known since he was in the 9th grade, had given him a ride on a trip Oxford from Memphis. The NCAA is calling that a Level 1.funny thing is, that same mentor had given that same kid a ride to Fayetteville for a recruiting visit as well. Could the Hogs next for a visit from the NCAA?

Ole Miss has and continues to work with the NCAA in this situation. That said, if the Tunsil draft night issue brings anything additional to light, then all bets are off. The Ole Miss staff feels confident the text exchange between Tunsil and John Miller fall with the guides of the opportunity fund and are not an issue.

The bottom line is this. Pat Forde and the rest of the national media are on a witch hunt with the Ole Miss program. If after 3 1/2 years of investigating the football program, the worst violations occurred under the previous staff, I feel pretty good
