Re: Speaking of the Walton family...(way down below)....

That happened to me while shopping at Target. I was pushing my cart down the aisle towards a product I wanted to get at the end of the aisle. Halfway down the aisle was a lady with two huge dogs, a Doberman and a collie. The dogs were standing across the width of the aisle, one on each side, nose to nose, making passage down the aisle impossible.

I carefully pushed my cart up to near where the lady was standing and said, "Excuse me, I just need to get through here." The lady said, "Oh, come on through, the dogs are not blocking you, they are "in training" to be service dogs." ( no vest or anything on the dogs). I told the lady, "Well, I am afraid that the wheels of this cart will run over the dogs' feet and will hurt them." There really was no room to get through. In a 7 foot wide aisle, the dogs were blocking the entire width.

The lady said, "Just push your cart on through." I told her, "Well, I really don't want to hurt them. Maybe I can leave my cart here and just nudge past the dogs and walk down to the end of the aisle." When I tried to do that, the Doberman growled at me. So, I backed up. I didn't want to risk being bitten.
The lady said, "Oh, he's gentle as a lamb. He doesn't mean anything by growling." I told her, "I don't want to risk it -- I'll just back up, go down the next aisle, and come around to the end." I couldn't believe that she was refusing to take their leashes and guide them to the side of the aisle and ask them to sit down off to the side so that shoppers could get their cart through. She was just totally oblivious-- completely ignorant.

I love animals, and we've always owned pets, but not to the extent that we have to take them shopping with us. I thought of telling the management at Target about this lady and her huge dogs, but she would just deny it and say that anyone could walk down the aisle and she was required to bring the dogs in the store in order to "train them to be service animals."
Yeesh. I don't know what is wrong with people some days - including people who take their pigs in strollers out shopping. What are they thinking.......... -- B4E
