Sefo can still be the right guy if the OL is better.
The year before last, it was the Buff's offense, not the Buffs defense that was keeping us in games. Sefo was throwing TD passes all over the place. He threw 67 times for 7 Touchdowns against CAL and tied their emerging NFL star QB prospect, Cobb.
What was different? Mostly a bad offensive line this year and Sefo was never quite right mentally or physically at the same time. The team had lots of injuries and they simply were not very good all around offensively.
Had the Buffs had the same production on offense as 2014 with the 2015 defense, they'd have had 3-4 more wins last year.
We all know Sefo is not the kind of QB who can carry a team on his back, but he has proven he can be effective with a good supporting cast.
With this improving defense and just marginal improvement on offense, Sefo will look much better. From what I've read, he's feeling great and expects to be 100% by the first game.
With that said, doesn't it make sense Webb would be looking at Cal, who doesn't have any proven QBs to take over for Cobb?
