Solid theory. The league has some soul searching ahead.

Judging from the reaction of the Buffs and other P12 teams on the losing end, I think you're on to something there. Lots of disbelieving looks after no calls, palms in the air, etc. Other teams used to physical play never expected those calls. Buff guards and swings relied on those calls all year, and when they didn't get them (on the road), they had no answers.

To the argument that there were Pac 12 refs in the tourney, they're more likely to not blow the whistle on this stage. Nobody wants to be called out for ticky-tack fouls on national TV. In league play they cave in too much to the home crowds & coaches.

The conference needs to shoulder some responsibility for our dismal showing. This is a good place to start.
