Beautiful story. We met them years back in Boulder....their son was playing but injured his knee and his football days were over.

We didn't get to know them well, but I still remember them as I saw them back then...we were all so much younger then.

I'm so happy you two spent time together. He trusted you to listen because you've proven yourself to all of us with your writings. And I think he needed to tell his story, especially the story of Betsy. And his devotion to her. I can tell you from personal experience, it's very difficult for men to take care of their wives...they love and care, but dealing with a sick or even recovering wife is very hard. I give him so much credit for taking loving care of his wife....the wife he loses a little more each day.
