Our son called tonight w/ an interesting story. He works for Adobe Software in San Fran. and had spent the week at the Art Center College of Design down in Pasadena, recruiting graduates for jobs as design interns at Adobe. After a busy week, he was waiting at the departure gate at Burbank airport, for a Southwest flight back to Oakland, when up walked California Gov. Jerry Brown.

Passengers at the gate immediately started talking to Brown, saying, "Hey, Gov., what brings you to Burbank?" Brown explained that he was on his way back to Oakland after attending Nancy Reagan's funeral in Simi Valley. He stood in line to board just like everyone else, greeted everyone who came up to him, and made small talk about the weather, the rain, and so forth.
I said to my son, "So, Jerry Brown is booked on Southwest commercial flights? That's surprising, given the issues of security for politicians these days." (I was watching the aftermath of the fighting in Chicago at Trump's venue, when the rally was canceled and the Chicago police had to clear out the arena).
My son said, "Not only does he apparently fly commercial, but he had a later boarding number than I did. I had business priority boarding number A-5, and the Gov. had number A-24. And, there was no visible security. He had only an administrative assistant with him."
So, on behalf of the taxpayers of Calif., I want to thank Gov. Brown for being a "man of the people" and saving funds by traveling with the "normal folks" on discount airlines. I guess he just sits there and has those little snack bags of peanuts like all the other folks. LOL. :-) B4E
