Sonny was a fine coach, but inherited a program on the rise
Earle was a madman, but he sure turned things around in Fort Fun. And kudos to Sonny for building on that base, which he did a great job of.
Mac had "more resources," but he took on a program is disrepair and had to beat Oklahoma and Nebraska, sometimes on back-to-back weeks back then, just to win a league title.
Also, about Sonny winning two titles at Miami: He was an assistant. Does that make Josh McDaniels an awesome coach?
