Marcus has a very bright future as a lawyer and maybe.....
a politician. You cannot believe the crap he went through because he wasn't black enough for the football people. In 1998 he was invited to speak in Europe in front of the world leaders on aid to Africa. He worked in Denver with an organization that sent books and other materials to parts on Africa that he was invited to visit. It happened that him being invited to speak in Europe came in October of his senior year I believe. The pressure he got from the coaches and parents to stay in Denver and play the two games he would have missed while in Europe was intense. A certain coach in Boulder was trying to convince Marcus to stay and concentrate on his game instead of speaking to the world leaders. He went to Europe and there were a lot of people who never forgave him. How do I know this? Herman, Polica, Levell, Patricia, and Marcus are our friends and they were stunned by how upset some people were.
Marcus is a great person, someone you would love to say was strong in character and to this day is involved with charities in Africa.
