...in the 4th grade playing for the Wilson Park Vikings, there was a penalty called "spearing". That was in 1974. They were still calling spearing when my high school's team went undefeated and won a state championship in '81. Times have changed.

These same players who use their high-tech $400 helmets as weapons will have debilitating brain, neck, and back injuries when they get older. They'll whine and complain about how they were "used" and they'll sue anybody who will pay them. Ridiculous. I have NO sympathy for them.
