From what I know, expenses can be pretty high.

They had a packed stadium, so you have ticket checkers, security, and basically a lot of the costs of putting on a normal game/event. The Boulder Police charge an arm and a leg on their part.
But maybe they are counting all the guests they brought in- flights, hotel, and so on.

Pretty easy to rack up 300 grand. I've seen the numbers for events like this and people would be surprised at all the line items.
