Basketball has become positionless


The classic positions of power forward, small forward, point guard, etc dont really exist with most coaches today in terms of their roles on offense. You need a certain size/type of player to match up defensively, but offensively most coaches are good having 4 or 5 guys on the perimeter and 1 guy maybe flash posting or setting ball screens and getting into an occasional P and R.

Todays schemes are designed to space the floor for shooters
