The question is what happens when the "Next Hire" falls apart?
It sounds like perhaps you are out of state. I went to all 6 home games + one away. Things are really grim. I'm not sure Deion will come here (I think doubtful), but we need a spark. In some ways maybe more a big personality than a great coach. This job/program is such a huge huge challenge on so many levels, so I'm not going to blame any coach or RG if they back out.
It would not surprise me if many potential available coaches snub us again. I don't blame RG if he is in touch with Deion and made it public. Any sort of buzz that can be created around the program is fine by me. After this past off-season and season, even just dreaming of a Deion character trying to man the helm can somewhat put a smile on your face.
I sort of don't think that Herman, Patterson, Calhoun or even Walters would come here. I can see the draw for Walters, but this is such a rebuild-- it is not just rebuilding the team, staff, (I think he could do the team stuff) or recruiting better but it is the entire program infrastructure that he would have to rebuild. I could see RW's mentors advising CU is just too much and better to look at options elsewhere.
