MT and MSU 5-7 and not going to a bowl. I celebrate, but why?
It's not because I want to see Mel Tucker fail as much as I want to see MSU get buried in their $95 million dollar greed. Mel Tucker was being paid fairly at CU. As an unproven head coach he agreed to a $15 million dollar contract which was actually more than the proven DAntonio was making at MSU before he was brought on. So, he finished 5-7 his first year. Nothing to be alarmed about, but does it deserve a raise? When he was being courted by MSU, I remembered thinking at the time that he has yet to prove himself and any type of raise to keep would be premature. We did the right thing by letting him go and that's what I want the record to show. Greed should never pay.
It could still work-out. Maybe MSU comes back strong next year, but I'd rather see MSU swallow a 95 million dollar mistake and choke on their greed. Meanwhile, Midnight Mel is a winner no matter what.
