I wish all recruits could see CU the way I do
I've got a strong emotional and nostalgic attachment to CU. Been a fan in good times and bad. It's also the school I couldn't get into. I'd love a second chance at that!!
That said, when I coached (just a volunteer assistant) HS ball in the South, the majority of the players I coached were southern born and bred. They had no interest in going up north. The one exception was when I was at Prattville HS in Alabama. We had some kids from military families and they didn't all have the desire to stay in the South. Can a guy like Deion Sanders get these types of kids to leave home when so many great coaches are trying to keep them in the South?? Maybe. But CU has got to fix the NIL and academic issues to create a level playing field. I hope they get it done fast.
