White was a finished product by the time he left UCCS and came to Boulder. His story is really how he grew 5 inches after high school and then worked his ass off to become the best player in the country at the D2 level. His time at CU simply allowed him to display his talent against Pac12 players instead of the RMAC

MW started as a true freshman and was immediately the best player on the team. He was pretty much the same dude from game 1 to his last game as a senior, which is a strong willed explosive kid with a high motor but a suspect jump shot. If he could shoot just a little bit better from deep he would be in the NBA now instead of the G league.

The other guys you mentioned did improve a lot as Buffs and went from average p6 level recruits to NBA draft picks
