Reminding it was an early morning 30 minute scrimmage. First off no
Offensive growth with Boyle. Same euro ball screen run right on top of the 3 point line. Look at Gonzaga, mich, Illini, etc they are set up 10 feet from line to space/spread the floor. This team will once again struggle to score. Tad needs growth in that area.
1. Clifford by far best player. Still not great shooter but looks the part. Can handle ball, defend, rebound. If he is aggressive enough to ave 14 points a game can be first team pac12
2. Desilva if you did not know who he was, was non existent yesterday. Just did not show aggressive offesive growth we need from him. Still talented enough to ave 12 points, 6 rebs.
3. Lovering only looked slightly better. Game still looks to fast. He is being reminded of it. Said a couple times to himself to just slow down
4. Hurlburt no where near ready. Needs to redshirt. Doug moes big white stiff comes to mind
5. Hadley and gabbon will really help. Both bring defense, rebounding and energy. May see Hadley playing stretches at center on certain nights even though just 6’6””. Kid is tough.
6. Simpson looks a little better but still rushes things on offense. When he plays with more composure on o he will be good. Ton of aggressiveness and energy.
7. Hammond and O’Brien will need to play effective minutes. Hopefully limited to about 12 to 15 a night but they will be needed.
8. Princeton kid looked no better than a walk on. Hopefully that was just on bad practice. Had 3 air balls, did not look great on d or reb
9. Ruffin is very aggressive and confident on offense. Every time he gets ball he looks to put pressure on d going at rim. Like his possibility a lot
Again this was one short early scrimmage and can’t get everything from one day. Just a quick impression [Post edited by ralphie2425 at 10/16/2022 1:33PM]
