I think you're forgetting what the score was or you're misunderstanding me.

Initially, they were down by 22, so yes, the first two-point conversion made sense.

The second one made no-sense because they would were down by 29-8 (21 points which is 3 TDS). The Touchdown and extra point would keep them within 14 points, a 2-score game.

I agree you go for it early when you are down by 8 or 15.
