Both my sons played hockey. They played both


goalie and "out"--meaning non-goalie in hockey parlance. It was a major commitment on our part (OK-mainly on mine, since my wife was not an early riser) given the ice times, travel and considerable expense.

But I wouldn't trade it for the world. They made great friends they still have in their 30s and the parents bonded also.
