Biden could have avoided this. Instead, he...
1. On his first day as president, Biden canceled completion of the Keystone XL Pipeline. This was approved and financed infrastructure with workers on the jobsite. Biden cancelled the project, leading to the layoffs of thousands of workers.
Guess who bought all the steel that had been made for Keystone? That would be China.
2. Biden suspended oil and gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and New Mexico.
3. Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reinstalled regulations that restrict domestic energy production, including resurrecting the “Waters of the United States” rule that limits how farmers and ranchers can use their land.
4. Biden's EPA announced new regulations for methane emissions from oil and gas production, transmission, storage, and distribution. The American Petroleum Institute estimated that the Democrats’ desired ban on oil and gas development on federal lands would cause nearly 1 million Americans to lose their jobs and cost the U.S. $500 billion to import gas.
5. Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Treaty, which will result in more energy regulations and restrictions and drive up the cost of domestic energy.
6. Biden’s decision to put a moratorium on oil and gas leasing on federal land and his goal of banning hydraulic fracking.
The collective impact of Biden’s policies is the skyrocketing gas prices we all enjoy.
When oil companies make investments, the projects involved are long term, multi-billion-dollar deals.
Biden's hostility toward the industry has caused oil executives to pull back because of what happened with Keystone. Get the approvals, get the financing, spend the money for construction, only to stop the project cold because the government changed policies.
Biden is a root cause of the inflation / gas price challenges but you refuse to admit reality.
