And to be fair, CU put DU football out of business


The CU-DU football game on Thanksgiving was the biggest sports event in Colorado for many years. CU killed that when it joined the Big Seven and refused to play the Pioneers from that point.

The Pios lurched ahead for another decade-plus before calling it quits after the 1960 season. DU went out by beating CSU 21-12. DU also beat the Buffs in their last meeting, 26-20 in 1947.
