I'm not giving up on Lovering either. Even if he proves to be an average
backup, he's helpful but I want to remain optimistic that now that he knows what it takes to be successful, he will work his tail off, get/stay healthy and become a solid starter, at least. Maybe not right away, but before he leaves CU.
I hope Allen is ready to go as a plus-starter from day 1 but I'm thinking he will initially come off the bench. Excited to see how ready and able Hurlburt is.
For me the initial starting lineup could be:
Nique, Simpson, Hadley, Da Silva and Hurlburt (say what?!)
Nique, Simpson, Hadley, Da Silva and Lovering (longshot for Lawson initially)
Nigue, Hadley, Ruffin, Da Silva and Hurlburt
Nique, Hadley, Ruffin, Da Silva and Lovering
I think Allen comes off the bench but eventually works himself into the starting lineup. Tad might feel forced to start Lovering or Hurlburt for size yet it wouldn't be surprising for them to both start the season coming off the bench. Simpson is dynamic yet he's not a distributor that I see or an excellent shooter. I could see him too initially coming off the bench.
By the end of the season I'd like to see this lineup, and see it succeeding at an impressive level:
Allen, Nique or Ruffin, Da Silva, Hurlburt and Lovering.
