Know what I'm tired of hearing?
People lumping all student-athletes into the same category as the tiny percentage who stand to benefit from NIL deals.
Tell it to MY daughter how easy it is to balance a highly rigorous academic program with the athletic requirements of competing at a P5 program. What a piece of cake it is to get up at 6 am every day to run miles hours before other kids get out of bed. The pressure of competing at a high level, risking injuries and stress on her body that she will carry for the rest of her life.
So excuse me when I take offense when people talk about how privileged student-athletes are and silly ideas like how their scholarships should be taxed.
