There's a problem with splitting revenue evenly among schools
If each school gets $10 million to pay players, that's a disadvantage for schools in high cost areas. How much will that matter when recruiting?? I don't know. You can bet Nick Saban would tell a recruit "Hey, we'll pay you the same as USC and the money will go twice as far in Tuscaloosa". (I know I'm crossing conferences but you get the point)
OTOH if the money is divided with cost of living in mind, that would also be used when recruiting because schools in high cost areas can simply pay more than other schools for players.
I don't see how this can be done equitably. I think the NCAA knew what they were doing by keeping money out of the equation.
