very understandable. I think where this discussion diverged is in the belief that the media always gets everything wrong and only gullible people believe the media.
In the Jan 6 riot, over140 Capitol Police officers were injured, and at least 6 people died as a result of that violence. We all saw the video of officers being horribly beaten. We all saw the photos of the gallows and noose built for VP Pence. They were running through the halls yelling for him, and he was only a few feet away. We all heard the sworn testimony of the police officers to the Jan 6 committee.

On the Russian connection- The Mueller investigation resulted in 37 indictments, app. 8 convictions in court, and app. 7 prison sentences. That's not a hoax, nor a media mistake. If you read at least the summary of the Mueller report, it will list factually all the evidence gathered.

On the Sandman incident and the incident at the border: Yes, the media initially reported that incorrectly. Then they had to retract it. Sometimes they are wrong - but more often than not, they are correct.
