I was a little disappointed when Eddie stepped down as head coach to become athletic director only. I think he would have been quite successful giving coaching a few more years. Eddie let Mallory go because he wasn't recruiting like Eddie did.
Most disappointing was when Fairbanks decided to live the country club life when he took over at Colorado following Mallory, and after being so successful at Oklahoma and New England.
Eddie sure made up for it when he hired McCartney.
