My Dear OL’ Dad was the 147lb. Colorado Golden Gloves “Tri-State Champion” in 1938 out of Longmont. Longmont has had some tough dudes over the years. Big rivalry with Boulder back in the day of Northern Conference.

Watched Boulder vs. Longmont football/fights at the old stadium in Longmont Roosevelt Park as a kid.

Dad coached Boxing at CU gym for a few years in the early 50’s. They Took a heavy weight to the Golden Gloves in Denver but he lost. Can’t remember his name.

Bill Roe CU Football Player was a good boxer and Linebacker.

My Grandfather boxed bare fists. I tried it once but was no good at it. LOL,
