Thx 30 for the history lesson tonight ! Don’t forget Scott Wedman back in
the day. Played for the Kansas City/Omaha Kings back in the 70s and won a ring with the Celtics when Bill Walton roams the bench there too. GREAT shooter. If they had a 3 point line back then he would have set all kinds of records. Scoopy was a fan favorite back then too. Great memories of Balch. When I was in 5th or 6th grade at Centennial we used to sneak into Balch by going thru Carlson gym on the west side of Balch. Hung signs on the balcony above the court on the west end. I remember “Cliff Country” was our go to sign for Meely. They eventually kicked us out of the balcony after most of the 68-69 season. No one was ever on that thin little balcony that ran along the baseline. It was a safety hazard. Gordon Tope had a buzz cut. Dudley’s dad was Dale Mitchell, who was the last out in Don Larsens perfect game in the World Series. Sorry I’m rambling but you always bring back those great Buff memories. And thanks for the info on Batteys grandpa. That is awesome. My stepson played for the Twins. I will definitely tell him about that.
