Your points, I disagree and agree both
Working backwards, Bob Simmons was a solid candidate. If I recall correctly, Skippy threatened to leave if he didn't get the job. Lame, if true. Skip enjoyed daddy's (McCartney's) wealth (roster talent) for a while and looked good before everything went south.
Simmons went to Okie State and did ok. Retrospectively he may have been the better choice.
But Skippy had a more "attractive" resume in many people's eyes.
CU HCs: Ricardo Patton, JE, MT and KD. That's superior to most programs and organizations. Maybe one day it will have a Black AD.
As for this: "... unconscious motivation that favors the white guy. A black coach has to be 10 times more qualified to get the job. When they fail they never get rehired like mcdaniels just did."
Psychology says "maybe" depending on the experiences, character and psychology of the person or people doing the hiring. Very possible.
Respectfully said I don't buy into the old line that a Black coach or person has to be "10 times better," to get hired.
I agree, most Black coaches who get fired don't get to make the Retread Tour like white coaches. I remember reading Embree said that too when he was terminated. All this says something, no doubt: bias, lack of ethics, bad decision making, wrong.
