I agree. I heard one analyst, convinced that if Putin was going in,

he would have done so by now. He does his work on the sly - former KGB. This is all for show, trying to stick a finger in the eye of the West. I do think he underestimated how strong the reaction would be, so now his problem is how to back down without appearing weak. I doubt he has the appetite for a big, high profile conflict with the world watching.
