Inflation and the $15 a pound sirloin

We’ve all seen it - good steak hovering around $15 to $20 a pound, Crazy pricing.

I’ve represented cattlemen and ranchers - good folk - deep humble and strong.

So I’m thinkin when I see the prices - at least he ranchers are doing better.

But they ain’t. For years my rancher friends have ben complaining about the consolidation in the US meat packing industry, down to four meatpackers in the USA.

So COVID comes - and. We watch prices explode. But the ranchers - they’ve got none of it, not making enough to even keep their herds. Their selling and then losing their ranches. Someone’s doing ok - but nit them.

The ranchers have been begging various administrations to do s9meth8ng about this for years - but nothing’s been done.

Bidens DOJ has had a year to start fixing this. Nothing yet. Guess the money from the billionaire meat packers is more important than the ranchers.
