I hear ya'. I have a question for you.

Is it reasonable for some parents not wanting their child (even if a high school senior) reading about such sexual savagery in school?

I respect if you believe it should be taught yet isn't also ok for a parent to not to want rape and sodomy to be read about in school?

Yes, American history is ugly and despicable. How people treated slaves and Black people (and still do) is criminal. It would have been good to lynch white people back in the day for those offenses and take their property away from them if they employed slaves.

You call poppycock (haven't heard that word in decades), I call "reasonable" parental concern.

But after this conversation, I will go research the book to educate myself about it.
