Here's a mind bender for you:
I saw this in The Athletic Pulse this morning:
Tom Brady threw his 600th career touchdown pass in Sunday’s blowout win, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to do so. It’s difficult to imagine the record ever falling.
Let's do the math: A QB comes out of college after his junior year. Let's say he is 21 on the opening weekend of his career and is the starter. If he plays 20 years (a rarity of rarities) as a starter and has to throw an AVERAGE of 30 TD passes a season for all twenty seasons.
Let's say he plays 15 seasons. Now he has to AVERAGE 40 TD passes a season.
I'm laughing as I type this at how absurd the numbers must be to reach Brady.
And the man could play, if he stays healthy and keeps being having fun as he is, for one or two more years after this one possibly.
His wife has wanted him to retire but he loves his life and the competition too much right now.
Will that record stand during our lifetimes?
