Yeah the ones who survived are trying to make up for a rough year.

And of course a lot did not survive. On top of that, we know they have to pay a lot more in the way of hourly wages for staff. Employers are having a bear of a time attracting anyone qualified, and that's not only true in CA - across the country. It's crazy. Here in CO I'm seeing restaurant prices go up like you, energy prices for sure, building materials (my private projects), but really grocery prices haven't changed that much. We also know that anything requiring a microchip is WAY backed up, hence prices go up, because chip makers virtually shut down in 2020. Ports are WAY backed up - imports are sitting out at sea. The inflation impacts are fairly isolated, but they all seem to be hitting consumers the hardest.
