This is really a trigger issue for me. I try to remain calm, but this

really makes me angry. We have never received any ballots except our own. But if we did, we would take immediate HONEST, ETHICAL action to clear up this mistake.
Ballots are NEVER warded from one address to the next. The Post Office does not do that, because they are instructed not to. If someone moved just before the election, and the ballot went to their old address, then they have to notify the elections board to cancel the old ballot and send a new one, or they have to go back to their old address and recover the ballot.

When I work as an elections clerk, hundreds of people come in on voting day with their absentee ballots already filled out. When they hand me those ballots to go into the ballot box, I always check to see that they are signed on the back. Otherwise, the ballot is not counted. Did you know that an unsigned ballot is invalid? It cannot be counted.

If I would ever see multiple ballots all signed with the same name, or even in the same handwriting, or even people who just drew a line through the signature, I would immediately report that. Immediately. An elections clerk has no way of knowing if a voter is R or D when they accept a completed absentee ballot into the ballot box. It doesn't matter to me, because I am sworn to conduct a free, fair, non-partisan election.

It infuriates me that people laugh and boast about receiving ballots for their adult children who moved away more than a decade go, or someone whom they know is deceased, or a ballot the mail carrier delivered to the wrong address, or their neighbors who throw their ballot on the table and say, "Nah, I don't know nothing' 'bout this, so you vote on my ballot for me", or any other VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW, and they do nothing about it. That's infuriating. And it's often the same people who claim that the election is fraudulent and rigged, and therefore, we cannot trust our election system. -- B4E
