For the hundredth time: Politics is downstream from Culture

If you don't like the nature of today's politics (and who does), blame the culture that it operates in. The polarization and ugliness for which we condemn our politicians are reflections of the populace, not the other way around.

Trash Jim Jordan for instance, but I'm reminded of Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men: "You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall - you need me on that wall."

It's easier to hate on Congress than to admit that the underlying problem with our government is much broader and deeper: it's societal. And it ain't pretty.
