In first year nobody is broadcasting new standard ATSC3 / NextGen TV in 4k.

Even though standard allows for it. More of the same dog food programming being served with a better compression scheme, so some upgrade but at best 1080P because of lack of content. Will max subchannels out starving out bandwidth for 4K. In sports only one who is working to upgrade in image is Fox. Even field production there is limited to 1080P 60fps and they up sample to 4K, HDR is biggest upgrade. Is very good though is delivered over the top (IP) like Netfix. Netflix and Apple. Can deliver 4K HDR becuase it comes in via the internet not in the channels broadcasting and cable companies use. They also have 4K content that has been preproduced in studio conditions not remote locations. Till content providers upgrade signal doubt networks will be in big rush to pay for the infrastructure upgrade. Again they are crapping down the current signal anyways.
