If I'm Fangio and my job depends on success this year, I am thinking...
1) I have to get this decision right or I'm never going to be a head coach again, especially at my age.
2) The media and fans are impatient with me to make a decision but I'm going to ignore that noise and let things play out in practice this week and against the Rams in the final preseason game and then decide.
3) Right now, I, Fangio, believe that Bridgewater is the safer pick and the guy less likely to be sloppy with the ball, the guy more likely to be consistent with accuracy and moving the team. I feel safest with him. I also think the team will respect him. However Lock is where the upside is but can I trust Drew to throw with timing and accuracy, make good decisions and be consistent? Can I trust him to be tough, tough minded and competitive as a maniac? I'm not sure. I want to see it in practice and then next week.
4) I spend a lot of time reviewing film and then being by myself thinking things out at the end of the day.
5) I encourage both guys to keep working, keep fighting to prove themselves the best guy for the team and the job.
