The amazing thing about those classes in 86-88 was the Buffs hadn't won

anything yet and CU didn't have Dal Ward built until 1991. Mac was recruiting 4-5 star players without any on-field success to sell other than the win over NU in '86. Oliver Lucas helped a lot and was the best recruiter of any assistant coach in the history of CU football. If current coach Karl had 10% of Mac's ability to sell we'd be recruiting much better right now.
